What's prompting you to look into tinting?

Most people come to us with one of these problems. Some come with a few.
Too much heat

A north or west-facing room that becomes unbearable in summer. We can cut heat significantly without darkening the room.

Glare on screens

Sunlight that makes TV or computer use impossible at certain times of day. Tinting reduces glare without affecting your view.

Privacy from neighbours

Windows that face the street or a neighbour's home. One-way film gives you privacy during the day without blocking light.

UV damage to furniture

Fading floors, furniture and art. Good window film blocks up to 99% of UV rays, protecting what is inside without changing how it looks outside.

Safety and security

Safety film holds glass together on impact and security film makes forced entry significantly harder.

New home or renovation

Getting the full home done before you move in or while work is underway. We work around builders and trades.

Window tinting is not complicated, but it is easy to be sold the wrong product. We assess your windows, understand what you are trying to achieve, and recommend the film that actually suits your situation and your budget.

The main types of residential film

We stock films from leading manufacturers including Llumar, 3M, Solarguard, Metamark, SolarScreen and Avery Dennison, and we will recommend whichever product best suits your situation – regardless of brand. Here is what each type does in plain language.

Solar and heat control film

Reflects or absorbs solar energy before it enters the room. Reduces heat significantly while keeping natural light. Best for north and west-facing glass.

Privacy film

One-way or frosted film that limits visibility from outside during daylight hours. Works best when the outside is brighter than the inside.

Safety and security film

Holds glass together when it breaks. Reduces the risk of injury from shattered glass and makes forced entry significantly harder.

Ceramic film

Premium heat rejection without the reflective appearance. Clearer view, better performance.

Decorative and frosting film

For bathrooms, feature windows, internal glass panels or anywhere you want privacy. Custom patterns available.

UV protection film

Blocks up to 99% of UV rays while remaining largely invisible. Protects floors, furniture, art and fabrics from fading. Often combined with solar film.

Questions people ask before they contact us

Will it look obvious from outside?

Depends on the film.  Some films have a light reflective appearance. Others are nearly invisible. We will show you samples and explain how each one looks in your specific situation before you decide.

It should not. Poor installation and cheap film are the most common causes of bubbling and peeling. We use Llumar and other leading brands – 3M, Solarguard, Metamark, SolarScreen and Avery Dennison – and we install everything properly. All residential installations are backed by a lifetime warranty – if there is ever a problem, we come back and sort it.

Most residential jobs are completed in a single day, and many take just a few hours. For bigger jobs we will schedule additional staff to get it finished in one visit where possible. We confirm a time beforehand and let you know when we are on our way.

It depends on the film and what you are trying to achieve. Some films reduce visible light noticeably which is exactly what some customers want, particularly for rooms where glare or heat is a serious problem. Others are virtually clear, managing heat or UV with minimal impact on the light in the room. We will talk through what you are trying to achieve and recommend the right film for your situation.

We give you an upfront, itemised quote. No hidden costs, no vague estimates. Flora, a customer, compared us to two other companies and found our pricing sat in the right place – professional service at a price that made sense.

We come back and fix it. Rose, another customer had one window that needed attention after her installation. She emailed Mel, they found a time that suited her next visit to the Peninsula, and it was sorted without any fuss.
